To Ski or Not to Ski? That is the question...

SKI!!!!!!!!!!!!

We took Ray for her first time skiing to Mt. Holly and let's just say she ROCKED it! If you know Reagan at all, you know she is our most dramatic child ever. It could have went 2 ways with her, REALLY good or REALLY bad. We are super thankful it went really well. She absolutely loved it. She probably skied 4 hours total. We still are in awe that she liked it as much as she did. It was so awesome to see her gain more and more self confidence and independence each run down. I certainly experienced a whole new side of Reagan tonight. I'm so glad that I got the chance to be there with her.

This is Emma's 3rd year skiing (she wouldn't let me take any pics of her) and she got right back to it as if there was no seasonal break. She was learning how to ski backwards and trying to jump too. NO FEAR! Oh to be young again! Both the girls can't wait until next week!

And the worst parent award goes to...

Yep, that's right, The Murtons!

We dropped the ball today and poor Emma had to face the brunt of it all by herself. WE FORGOT ALL ABOUT HER FIRST SPELLING BEE!! OMG! We signed her up six weeks ago and basically forgot about it ever since. The good news is that she finished in the top 20 out of 120 3rd through 5th grade kids. She missed the word bicycle. Even better news, her best little girlfriend, Brynn won! I just can't believe we were not there to witness it but I'm sure Emma is so excited for Brynn that maybe, just maybe, she'll forgive us...WE CAN HOPE RIGHT?!! Add a 4th child to the mix and I've become the most unorganized mommy ever! LOL!

Madison & The Stinky Bun

Maddie is super attached to her bunny blanket. It goes wherever she goes. She calls it several names including The Bun, Bunny, The Stinky Bun and Baby.

She even dresses The Bun when she is playing baby with it. She has been chewing on The Bun ever since she was able to figure out how to do so. We've tried to replace The Stinky Bun with the exact same bunny but no go!We call it The Stinky Bun because she chews on it all the time and never wants to wash it. She is very particular about the corner she chews on too. It gets pretty disgusting but she loves it more than any other thing that she owns. I'm just hoping that she'll be able to shake it by the time she goes to college!

Talking in her Sleep

While we were on our little getaway to Kalahari, we heard Emma in her sleep say, "Why do I have to do everything?" Oh lord, what are we doing to our child?! LOL.

Oh How Sweet the Sounds...

Sydney has found her voice and she is cooing like crazy now! I love her facial expressions when she does it. Her eyes get real big and she smiles super big when she realizes that she is the one making all the noise. It just melts my heart!

Kalahari Rocks!!

We surprised our girls with a mini-vacation to Kalahari in Sandusky Ohio this past Sunday through Tuesday. Kalahari is one of the largest indoor water parks in the U.S. It was a last minute decision to go and we sure are happy that we did. It was a blast! The kids were so surprised when we got there. The excitement on their faces when they saw the resort from the road was priceless!

Reagan kept telling us how much she loved us and thank you, thank you! It was so cute. Emma was screaming yeah and jumping in her seat and Maddie, she was excited because the other girls were excited.

"My Butt Just Burped!" This is why I have to do this...

I want an easy way to keep track of all the funny things the kids say and do. I want to keep track of all the fun and big moments we share and I want a way to share with all of my friends, family and the kids one day too. A couple of my friends are blogging now and I thought that maybe I should try it. I used to scrapbook and even journal for Emma, Reagan and Madison but it's been quite awhile since I've done that. I'm on the computer all the time now so maybe this way will work best.

Shane and I used to say, "What's one more?" OH MY GOSH...It's alot! We wouldn't change anything but boy WERE we and STILL ARE surprised at how much more crazy things have gotten for us. Most everyone wants to know if we are done having kids and my answer is ABSOLUTELY! I know most of you have heard me say "I think I'm done" before, but this time I know I am.

Sydney is an absolute angel. She sleeps super well and eats like a champ. She's super laid back for a baby. We are so lucky this time around. She doesn't require too much right now which is good because the other girls seem to require more and more everyday. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.

Emma is 7 3/4 years now and she is in the third grade and doing fantastic. She is sailing through the third grade with no problems thus far. She really loves reading more than ever this year. Emma is into mysteries and all the Guiness World Record books right now. She has been a wonderful help with all her sisters since having Sydney. She loves holding Sydney and playing with her. Most of the time when I am feeding Sydney I know I can rely on her to help the other girls out when I can't. She has to be in the right mood though. Right now Emma is really interested in skiing, playing board games, wii games, writing out all kinds of fun lists which I hope someday soon transpires into stories, club penguin and artsy projects. She also is into running and can't wait until she does another race this year. She really has grown up a ton this year.

After having Sydney and then looking at Emma, I just can't believe how big Emma has gotten and how time flies. It's sad how fast time goes but at the same time it's exciting to see how each child changes and grows.

Then we have our most dramatic, sensitive, fashionable child Ray Ray. Reagan is now 5 and started Pre K this year at the Karl Richter campus. She seems to like it a lot. She's one of the older kids in the class so she tends to be a little bossy, I mean helpful with the other kids. She missed the kindergarten deadline by 2 weeks so we had to put her in Pre K or else she would have driven me crazy. She too has blossomed a ton this year. She went from being our little dramatic baby girl to our big dramatic won't wear anything but dresses girl. She started becoming more helpful with everything from Maddie to helping clean house. She likes to draw or have drawn for her, dresses and outfits that she can color in. She also likes dressing up into fancy clothes, playing with her barbies and dolls. She really likes to help cook dinner. Right now her favorite thing to help me make is meatballs. She loves being with her friends and family more than ever right now. She is starting to have sleepovers with friends which is a really big deal to her.

Madison...oh Madison. She is one feisty 3 year old little girl. She has learned so much from Emma and Reagan but has recently started taking on Reagan's dramatic side. She picks up on everything so fast. She speaks her mind and makes us laugh constantly. Just the other night at the dinner table she farted and I said to her, "What do you say Maddie?" she said, "My butt just burped!" All of us just started laughing. We tried to hold it in but that phrase was priceless. Madison loves her bunny. We have to take her bunny everywhere. Sometimes the bunny becomes her baby. Most of the time we call it the stinky bun though. The bun is disgusting but its definitely her security. Maddie has a super spunky personality. She likes to make us think she doesn't know the answer to something when in actuality she does. I think it is for attention. For example, if you ask her what color something is and we already know she knows, she'll get this big smile on her face and say what do you think or you tell me. She does that for all sorts of things. Maddie makes the silliest faces too.

All the girls are such a blessing. We are so lucky to have 4 healthy, beautiful girls. Even though they have turned our world upside down, we wouldn't have it nor could we ever imagine it any other way. Although we are supposed to teach them, they have taught us so much more. Life is good!
